This group introduces evidence-based relaxation techniques that activate the parasympathetic nervous system to promote better sleep. Students learn and practice multiple techniques, exploring which methods work best for their individual needs. This session emphasizes that relaxation is a learnable skill that improves with regular practice.

Expected Outcomes

Students will perform at least two evidence-based relaxation techniques, understand how the parasympathetic nervous system supports sleep, and increase confidence in their ability to self-soothe and calm racing thoughts. This hands-on session emphasizes skill-building through direct practice.

Learning Objectives

By the end of this session, students will be able to:

  • Explain how the parasympathetic nervous system supports relaxation and sleep
  • Perform at least three relaxation techniques correctly (PMR, 4-7-8 breathing, body scan)
  • Explore which relaxation techniques work best for their individual needs
