Group #23 - Problem-solving sleep challenges
This is the last group on sleep. The group will discuss sleep problems and practice troubleshooting strategies. It builds on previous sessions about sleep science, sleep hygiene, sleep environment, and relaxation techniques. Students will apply sleep strategies through an interactive escape room experience.
Expected Outcomes
Students will demonstrate increased confidence in managing common sleep disruptions, ability to implement evidence-based problem-solving strategies, understanding of when self-help strategies are sufficient versus when professional help is needed, and reduce anxiety about occasional sleep problems. This practical session equips students with troubleshooting skills and emphasizes that sleep problems are normal and manageable with appropriate strategies.
Learning Objectives
By the end of this session, students will be able to:
- Identify their most common sleep challenges and triggers
- Apply specific evidence-based strategies for different sleep problems (20-minute rule, cognitive techniques, worry management)
- Distinguish between normal sleep disruptions and problems requiring professional help
- Create a personalized sleep problem-solving plan
